INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND EXPLAIN YOUR ROLE.
My name is Marvin Mescher. I’m currently the Education Manager at Exhibit Concepts. I’ve been here since 1997 and I started out as a project manager for museums and Exploration Zones. I provide oversight to the educational portion of our business.
YOUR MOST IMPACTFUL CLIENT MOMENT.
I have many impactful moments due to how long I’ve been at Exhibit Concepts, but seeing the children come into a theme space for the first time and watching the excitement in their eyes is very impactful. And another was getting to meet B.B. King and having the opportunity to watch him play at the opening of his new museum in Indianola, Mississippi.
WHAT MAKES WORKING WITHIN EXPLORATION ZONES WORTHWHILE?
I like working in the Exploration Zones line of our business for the fact that every day and every project is different, and it always leaves an impact on the next generation.
WHY DO YOU THINK EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING IS IMPORTANT?
I believe hands-on, experiential learning is important to the students because, for one, it’s a very safe environment for them to learn, and it is also a great way to start their educational journey.
WHAT IS YOUR WISH FOR THE EDUCATORS AND CHILDREN WHO USE THESE SPACES?
My wish for immersive education spaces, for the educators, is to use them to their full potential, and for the children to walk away with a very good jumpstart on their educational journey.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THEME, AND WHY?
All of the themes are my favorite because I’ve been involved with almost all of them throughout my career at Exhibit Concepts.

Anyplace that does not have winter.
WHAT IS A SUPERPOWER YOU WISH YOU HAD?
My superpower would be to be able to grant all children of the world an equal educational opportunity.
WHO IS SOMEONE YOU WOULD WANT TO HAVE DINNER WITH? PAST OR PRESENT.
My Grandma Mescher and I would like her to teach me how to make her butterscotch refrigerator cookies.
