Exploration Zones by Exhibit Concepts® congratulates Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District on the opening of three new early learning childhood centers.
Exploration Zones partnered with the district to produce 40 permanent classroom environments for the project in Baytown, Texas. Goose Creek CISD serves more than 20,000 students every year. The district says the new pre-K classrooms will help expand that enrollment as Goose Creek CISD looks to grow early childhood learning in the region.
“Any time we have an opportunity to be the first to do something in our area, it builds a lot of excitement. Our community stands behind us in being innovators,” says. Dr. Demetrius McCall, Assistant Superintendent.
The immersive, play-based classrooms feature an array of thematic design elements built to spur creativity, grow vocabulary, enhance socialization, and make learning fun.
The spaces are closely tied to Texas’ statewide curriculum requirements. Exploration Zones worked alongside the educators and administrators at Goose Creek CISD and Fueling Brains to establish a comprehensive classroom approach for the project. “The environment, by itself, enhances the learning of children. Some people call it play learning, some people call it experiential learning, but that, and that alone, prompts children to talk,” says Dr. Randal O’Brien, Superintendent.
Architectural firms Huckabee and PBK also helped design efforts on the multi-school project. Bartlett Cocke, Marshall Construction, and Drymalla contributed their services as general contractors.
