HOUSTON, TEXAS
Alief Independent School District serves nearly 50,000 students every year. Roughly 80% of those students come from low-income families, making Alief ISD a Title I district. Alief partnered with Exploration Zones by Exhibit Concepts® to help launch an expanded play-based, pre-K program across the district. That project included the construction of new early childhood learning centers and the conversion of several pre-existing school classrooms.
The work included 48 permanent classrooms, 23 convertible classrooms and 2 special education classrooms. Each convertible classroom featured 12 available themes.
Alief’s partnership with Exploration Zones by Exhibit Concepts® provided an immersive, experiential education environment for thousands of its youngest students to learn through hands-on activity and engagement.
